Subservience and the Tao

See how the sunset welcomes in the sun
and how the tides tug gently at the moon.

See how the clouds turn coyly for the wind
and how the grasses kowtow to the rain.

They all embrace the guest on whom they wait
and pay him homage with a host's humility.

As I, with equal dignity, await
your love's embrace. Who says I love obsequiously?
